Ramen detox…

Day 242:

I woke up with the intention to meet up with moca for some ramen, but apparently she had other ideas. So of course, being that she has been my ramen detox as of late, we walked for 30 minutes through the humid air of Tokyo until we ended up here at Kanbutsu Cafe.

I wasn’t exactly sure what I ordered, but it was good. It was like a katsu-don made with fried tofu instead of pork. Whatever it was, it was healthy.

Which gave moca an excuse to buy this dessert at a nearby bakery.

I, on the other hand, was in need of some ramen so I made myself some green curry when I got to work.

Then a few hours later I made me some shoyu ramen.

So much for the ramen detox. 😛

A day off in the life of…

Day 241:

Me! Are you ready? Okay, let’s go!

I woke up around noon, picked up my niece from school and then headed straight to this restaurant called Tenkomori for some ramen.

I ordered the Tenkomori Ramen which was this huge bowl of ramen piled with chashu and moyashi. As I was handed the big bowl, I began to raise my camera and instantly the chef in the back yelled “no pikucha! no pikucha!” I tried to play the gaijin card, but it didn’t work this time. I still managed to take a few pictures though. hehe. But after talking with the chef after my meal, he turned out to be a pretty cool guy so I’ll honor his wishes for now. By the way, the ramen wasn’t very good anyway. haha.

Then it was off to the park to play with my nieces until it began to rain. Kids are awesome little creatures. I can’t wait to have my own someday.

After working up an appetite, it was time to eat dinner with my bro’s family. Pasta!!

A few beers and a quick nap later, I was ready for the night to begin. After stopping briefly at work to entertain a friend’s cousin, I was off to meet up with moca in Shibuya.

That’s when Darin rolled up in his Ferrari. (In his dreams!)

And we all hopped in my new Bentley Continental. (In my dreams!)

To go watch my cousin do his thang up on stage.

There’s nothing like hanging out at a rap show with some of my bestest friends in Tokyo.

I’m proud of you cuz! But I think it’s time we start working on some tracks together.

And of course, the night/morning never ends without a bowl of ramen. Somehow I always get coerced into eating Ichiran. Damn you Darin! haha.

Oooh, it’s that view again…

When it rains it pours…

Day 240:

Literally! It’s been an emotional week, to say the least, and I needed some comfort from one of my favorite bowls of shoyu ramen. But as I was headed to Katsumaru in Meguro, I was caught in a freak thunderstorm without an umbrella that lasted well over an hour. Needless to say, I got soaked.

When I finally did make it to Katsumaru, I was extremely disappointed. My favorite bowl tasted like sh**. Which made me rethink the whole concept of having a favorite bowl. In any case, I was still able to enjoy the moment and let my once-favorite bowl of ramen soothe my aching soul.

Work was just work, but on my way home I ran into a familiar friend. Although I’ve only met her once before, there seems to be some sort of connection between this cat and I. Perhaps she was a relative in a past life…

Anyway, we played for a few minutes before she ran off to go find some food I presume. Even though I’m mostly a dog person, I love all animals and this cat had some perfect timing.

I’m pretty sure this won’t be the last time I see this cat, so do you wanna help me come up with a name for her?
